23 years ago, the world was introduced to a cult classic who’s appreciation has only continued to grow: Tales from the Hood. Considered to be ahead of its time, the celebrated horror anthology has influenced countelss filmmakers, including Jordan Peele who referenced Tales From The Hood when discussing his passion for the genre during interviews for Get Out.

Just ahead of Tales from the Hood 2’s world premiere at the 2018 Internation Fantasia Film Festival, Universal Pictures has given us our first-look at what is sure to be one of the most sught after films of the year. And fans will not have to wait long! Tales From The Hood 2 is expected to be released on Blu-ray, DVD, Digital and On Demand as early as October 2nd, 2018.

Returning for Tales from the Hood 2 are Rusty Cundieff and Darin Scott who shared co-directing duties and executive producer Spike Lee (Do The Right Thing, BlacKkKlansman). The two co-wrote the original film with Cundieff as director in the original cult classic. Horror fans may recognize Darin Scott’s recent directing credits, Deep Blue Sea 2 and FrightFest’s Dark House as well From a Whisper to a Scream for which he holds a producing credit.

As is to be expected, Tales from the Hood 2 will follow a similar anthology format doling out cautionary tales and parables involving deadly sins. Keith David (The Thing, They Live) is taking over the role of Portifoy Simms as storyteller. Starring alongside him are Alicia Davis Johnson and Creighton Thomas, who are both new to the genre. Joining them is Bryan Batt, best known as Mayor Quinn Maddox from Scream: The TV Series. Also expectd to make an appearnce is Alexandria DeBerry (Fashinonsta).
