More exciting news to share here at Nightmare on Film Street in regards to one of the more anticipated horror films of the year. Chelsea Stardust’s Satanic Panic just dropped a trailer ahead of its September 6th release.

Satanic Panic features a married couple of Danica (Rebecca Romijn) and Samuel Ross (Jerry O’Connell) who are high society Satanists in need of a virgin sacrifice. They turn their sights on a pizza girl who is at the end of her ropes and from what I’m gathering, it becomes a gory, hilarious, devil-worshipping fight of life or death.  Appearing along with Romijn and O’Connell are horror regulars; Jordan Ladd (Cabin Fever, Deathproof), Jeff Daniel Phillips (The Lords of Salem, Halloween II) and AJ Bowen (You’re Next, The House of the Devil). Ruby Modine of Happy Death Day also co-stars, along with Hayley Griffith and Clarke Wolfe.

Stardust’s previous credits include Into the Dark: All That We Destroy, the Mother’s Day episode from May. Though Satanic Panic will mark her second time in the Director’s chair, she’s not new to the genre. She put in a lot of work behind the scenes Blumhouse, doing a variety of jobs. With Satanic Panic, she’s directing a story from Grady Hendrix (who co-wrote Mohawk and has penned several of the bestselling horror novels of the last decade) and Ted Geoghegan (We Are Still Here and Mohawk).

Dallas Sonnier & Amanda Presmyk of Cinestate produced Satanic Panic for Fangoria with Adam Goldworm of Aperture Entertainment. Fangoria’s Phil Nobile Jr. and Adam Donaghey served as executive producers.

This trailer does work two-fold for me though. My anticipation to see this film was already high so it is giving me a taste, but I can’t wait for next month. If you haven’t been following the coverage, there are a lot of great articles at NOFS, including interviews with the writer and director as well as a review from the Overlook Film Festival from Kimberley Elizabeth!
