Al Pacino is back at it again, Hoo-ah! With Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman and Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time in Hollywood both in post production, and two more projects in pre production, the celebrated actor has been busy. Most recently, Pacino has been signed on to play a Nazi hunter in the new series The Hunt executive produced by Jordan Peele. The ten episode series will be available on Amazon Prime but there is currently no word on an expected release.
The Hunt also stars Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson, The Perks of Being a Wallflower) playing Jonah Heidelbaum who joins a group called The Hunters, seeking out Nazi war criminals in 1970’s New York City. New to the group, and eager to help, Lerman’s characters is taken under the wing of Pacino. Not a bad mentor if I do say so myself.
The Hunt follows a diverse band of Nazi Hunters living in 1977 New York City. The Hunters, as they’re known, have discovered that hundreds of high ranking Nazi officials are living among us and conspiring to create a Fourth Reich in the U.S. The eclectic team of Hunters will set out on a bloody quest to bring the Nazis to justice and thwart their new genocidal plans.
Peele has made huge moves since his Oscar win for Get Out (2017). His company Monkeypaw Productions and Sonar Entertainment will be producing The Hunt. Creator David Weil (Moonfall) will write and executive produce as well, with Nikki Toscano attached as co-producer, alongside Weil, and will act as showrunner. Alfonso Gomez-Rejon is in talks to direct, and after his work on American Horror Story, this is a must watch.
