First Look at the HEATHERS TV Series

It’s gritty, it’s punk rock.. and it’s.. Millenial? Good or bad, Heathers the Tv Series definitely not shaping up to be a carbon copy of its predecessor.

The trailer (below) premiered during Sunday’s MTV Music Awards (which none of use were watching because Sunday currently features a double bill of Game of Thrones and Twin Peaks). Gone are the teased bangs and croquet mallets of the 80’s, there’s a new batch of girls to rule the school.

The 10-episode reboot is set to release in early 2018. Veronica Sawyer will be played by Grace Victoria Cox. James Scully will step in to the shoes of sinister boytoy, J.D. The elite Heather squad will be played by Melanie Field (Heather Chandler), Brendan Scannell (Heather Duke) and Jasmine Mathews (Heather McNamara).

The original Heathers follows popular Veronica (Winona Ryder), who she disapproves of the other girls’ cruel behavior. When Veronica and her new boyfriend, J.D. (Christian Slater), confront leader-of-the-pack Heather Chandler (Kim Walker) and accidentally poison her, they make it appear a suicide. Soon Veronica realizes that J.D. is intentionally killing students he does not like. She races to stop J.D. while also clashing with the clique’s new leader, Heather Duke (Shannen Doherty).
