NOS4ATU creator Joe Hill is no stranger to comics. His revolutionary horror series, Locke & Key, is regarded as one of the best comic books in the past twenty years, horror or not. Now, Hill is set to pave the way for even more breakthroughs in panel-based scary stories. According to an exclusive interview with EW, Joe Hill is leading an all-new lineup of horror titles from DC Comics.

The comic imprint, appropriately called Hill House Comics, arrives on the heels of DC cancelling their long-time mature comic imprint, Vertigo. Vertigo, which brought horror fans such memorable titles as Hellblazer, American Vampire, and Swamp Thing was a reliable source for anyone looking for darker comic books, so readers were understandably nervous when DC announced they’d be cancelling the imprint. However, this latest move should reassure fans that the comic titan is still dedicated to telling deep, moving horror stories. So far, five Hill House Comics titles have been announced, and over at Joe Hill’s Instagram, the author unveiled each of their first edition covers. Check out the posts below.

Hill House Comics will launch its first title, Basketful of Heads, on October 30th of 2019. Appropriate, right?
