John Carpenter Returns To Directing with CHRISTINE Music Video

Back behind the camera after far too long, John Carpenter has directed a new music video featuring the classic 1958 Plymouth Fury, Christine. After a cryptic tweet on the Horror Master’s twitter page yesterday afternoon, Sacred Bones Records dropped the Christine themed video in support of their upcoming John Carpenter Anthology: Themes 1974-1998. Scheduled for full release October 20th 2017, the anthology collects thirteen of Carpenter’s iconic synth-driven themes to films like Halloween (1978)Escape From New York (1981), and (of course) Christine (1983).

With a brief cameo from John Carpenter himself, the music video follows a mysterious figure as he navigates the city street in an all too familiar vehicle. With a quick nod to another fan favorite, Christine happens upon a young woman having car trouble. But when this young woman asks for help she is met with the cold, dead stare of an unforgiving and relentless killing machine.

Preorders for John Carpenter Anthology: Themes 1974-1998 have begun with two very limited “Anti-God Green” and “Halloween Orange” editions that include prints from Chris Bilheimer, the artist behind this year’s Fantastic Fest artwork. Fans luck enough to get one of the 500 hand-numbered copies of the Halloween Orange will also recieve and 7″ vinyl that includes additional themes from Village of the Damned (1995).

It was also announced recently that John Carpenter will be returning to the stage for a fall tour beginning late October. You can find dates and tickets, including some pretty enticing VIP packages here.
