The screening of the film will be followed by a Q&A session. In addition, all audience members in attendance will receive a signed copy of Slappy Birthday to You! Not near the event? Don’t fret, Alamo Drafthouse says the ‘Q&A is going to be beamed out live so our locations nationwide can join in on the fun, too.’ Here are all of the blood curdling details:

Your heart catches in your throat as you realize not only did you miss seeing the supremely watchable, surprisingly clever adaptation of your favorite childhood book series on the big screen, you missed seeing it with the mind behind all those adolescent laffs and frights — R.L. STINE himself — there in person. And by the time you read the full details — he gave funny and freewheeling Q&A and everyone went home with a signed copy of his new book — well, you’re just about ready to die and come back to haunt the feeds of those lousy friends who should’ve told you this was happening.

The Event is Tuesday, October 3rd at the Alamo Drafthouse in Brooklyn, NY. Purchase your tickets here.

About the Film:

Goosebumps (2015) is directed by Rob Letterman. The film stars Dylan Minnette, Jack Black, and Odeya Rush. The official synopsis:

Upset about moving from a big city to a small town, teenager Zach Cooper (Dylan Minnette) finds a silver lining when he meets the beautiful girl, Hannah (Odeya Rush), living right next door. But every silver lining has a cloud, and Zach’s comes when he learns that Hannah has a mysterious dad who is revealed to be R. L. Stine (Jack Black), the author of the bestselling Goosebumps series. It turns out that there is a reason why Stine is so strange… he is a prisoner of his own imagination – the monsters that his books made famous are real, and Stine protects his readers by keeping them locked up in their books. When Zach unintentionally unleashes the monsters from their manuscripts and they begin to terrorize the town, it’s suddenly up to Stine, Zach, and Hannah to get all of them back in the books where they belong.
