Fresh off of the box office success of Jordan Peele’s second feature film Us, the Acadamy Award-winning writer/director is ready to unleash a new wave of horror. Today, CBS debuted an extended trailer for Peele’s reboot of The Twilight Zone! Set to release this coming Monday (April 1st), the show will kick off with two episodes. The first, Nightmare at 30,000 Feet, stars Adam Scott in the main role made famous by William Shatner in the original series. The second episode, The Comedian, features Kumail Nanjiani in the lead. The reboot boasts a huge cast of well-known actors and actresses. Luke Kirby, Rhea Seehorn, Sanaa Lathan, Jessica Williams, and DeWanda Wise. Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions is producing the anthology series along with Simon Kinberg’s Genre Films.
The Twilight Zone‘s original incarnation began in 1959 and lasted through 1954. Created and hosted by Rod Serling, the anthology series blended a perfect balance of science fiction, fantasy, and horror to become one of the most critically acclaimed television shows of all time. It’s accolades include multiple Primetime Emmy Awards and also a Golden Globe Award for Best Director. The Twilight Zone experienced one revival already, a 44-episode slate in 2002-2003, and was hosted by Forest Whitaker.
