With the end of Stranger Things Season One, the anticipation couldn’t be higher for its second season this upcoming October. While we got our first trailer during late July, which featured the return of the beloved characters from the first season (sorry Barb), the internet is on the edge of its seat for more information.
Well, the internet got its wish (sort of). On August 30th, Netflix released a video titled Stranger Things: Level Up. The teaser is a recap of the first season done in the style of a retro video game, and don’t worry…there are plenty of waffles.
If you have not yet watched season one of Stranger Things and have been living in the upside down (or under a rock), the teaser does contain spoilers!
With the introduction of the first trailer for Season Two, we’re introduced to Mike, Will, Dustin, and Lucas playing Dragon Lair in an arcade before things get turned upside down. The Level Up title signifies arcade games might be a prominent theme in the second season. The classic retro video game sound effects will leave you wanting to search the couch for quarters and find the nearest arcade.. Or, maybe just dust off the NES and play some Super Mario Bros. We will let you watch it for yourself, below. (By far the coolest part is the recap of the final battle from season one)
Stranger Things 2 will debut on Netflix, October 27th.
Stranger Things is set in Hawkins, Indiana, during the early 1980s. The nearby Hawkins National Laboratory is performing scientific research for the United States Department of Energy, but secretly does experiments into the paranormal and supernatural, including those that involve human test subjects. These start to affect the unknowing residents of Hawkins in calamitous ways.
