A brand new horror anthology podcast, Radio Rental, is coming out just in time for Halloween. There has been little revealed about the podcast narrative(s) so far, but a new teaser trailer has been released and it’s brimming with both supernatural and true-crime vibes, not to mention a whole bunch of old-school VHS tapes. The narrator invites you to walk the fine line between what is real, what is here, and what is in your hear.

Check out the teaser for yourself below.

According to Deadline, Radio Rental is a semi-scripted series that follows a video store clerk (casting to be announced, but rumoured to be “a well-known actor”) who possesses a secret VHS collection of terrifying tales ranging from “eerie experiences with the dead, to close shave encounters with killers and unexplained phenomena”. And the neatest part: while the world of the podcast is fictional, the stories are real.

Radio Rental is produced as part of a collaboration between Tenderfoot TV and Cadence13 that was announced earlier this year. Tenderfoot TV creators Payne Lindsey and Donald Albright previously helmed true-crime podcasts like Up and Vanished, and Atlanta Monster. Lindsey will host Radio Rental, and every episode will feature an interview with real people who experienced and survived the events detailed in the show.

In an interview with Deadline, Lindsey had this to say :

[…] it’s a bit of a departure from our other work. I really wanted to create a fun, new world for these stories to live — a place where the listener can feel truly immersed in the horror without being weighed down by it.

The first to episodes of Radio Rental will go up on Halloween, with new episodes being released every Thursday. You can listen over on Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, Spotify, Google Play…wherever you typically prefer to listen to podcasts.
