Blood and ballet have a good track record in the horror genre, and the first official trailer for Ballet Blanc blends blood and ballet with an evil child narrative, weaving between images of a dancing child (Colter Carlborn-Mann) in pristine whites and that same child with his face smeared with blood (and apparently crying blood tears!). The contrast continues with shots placing the child, Coco, in a sterile-looking observation room, whereas the bulk of the film appears to be built around a dark and dusty rural town.
Check out the trailer below.
Here’s the official description from Indican Pictures:
An innocent-looking young boy mysteriously appears in a nondescript small town as the town recovers from recent storms. Now he’s set to unleash his own reign of terror.
Ballet Blanc comes to us from the mind of award-winning writer and director Anne-Sophie Dutoit, and seems to take an intense look through a genre lens at how passionate performers are shaped by their instructors. Shelley Starrett (VHYes, Murder Book), Brian Woods (Cut!), Franco Fox , and Catherine Lassesen (To 66) also star.
Look for Ballet Blanc in select theatres on November 8th. If you can’t catch it in theatres, you can look forward to a Digital and DVD release in January 2020.
