Think you’ve got the biggest horror chops in town? Well, lucky for you – you’re not one of the teens being put to the test in Rooster Teeth’s upcoming horror comedy, Blood Fest. The film will premiere in just two weeks from now at SXSW as part of their Midnighters slate; described as “provocative after-dark features for night owls and the terminally curious.”
Blood Fest comes from writer/director Owen Egerton, who’s fresh off the release of 2017’s The Axe Murders of Viscillia, to which he penned the script. The film stars Zachary Levi (who has currently signed on to star in the upcoming Shazam! from filmmaker David F. Sandberg), Jacob Batalon (Spider-man: Homecoming), Tate Donovan (Grace), and Seychelle Gabriel (Blumhouse’s Stephanie). Ryan P. Hall of Rooster Teeth serves as executive producer. Blood Fest Synopsis:
Fans flock to a festival celebrating the most iconic horror movies, only to discover that the charismatic showman behind the event has a diabolical agenda. As attendees start dying off, three teenagers with more horror-film wits than real-world knowledge must band together and battle through every madman, monstrosity and terrifying scenario if they have any hope of surviving.
Blood Fest will celebrate its World premiere at Austin’s Stateside Theatre on March 9th, with two additional screenings on the 10th and 16th. For SXSW Pass and ticketing information, check out the film’s page.
