Australian horror has really been up and coming throughout the years. Classics like The Loved Ones (2009), Wolf Creek (2005), and The Babadook (2014) have made its way from down under and terrified the world. But just when we thought koalas and joey’s couldn’t get cuter, they release the trailer for The Furies (2019), and now I am staying away from the outback.

The Furies (2019), recognized as official selections at both Frightfest London and the Edinburgh International Film Festival looks like a gory good time and the trailer doesn’t let you forget it. Showing some nice kills, a good selection of weapons, an axe in a girls face and some fingers being cut off this film doesn’t hold back any punches.

Official Synopsis:

A woman is kidnapped and finds herself an unwilling participant in a deadly game where woman are hunted by masked men.
The masks of the killers are nightmare fuel on their own but the inclusion of the technological advancements makes them more adept to killing. It puts a nice spin on the hunter/ prey films we have seen before transforming it almost into the realm of sci-fi. The Furies is Tony D’Aquino’s first time writing/ directing a feature-length film and it will be very interesting to see how this one turns out. There is potential for a new Eli Roth based on the gore we saw in the trailer! The Furies stars Airlie Dodds (Killing Ground), Linda Ngo (Top of the Lake), Taylor Ferguson (The Turning), and Ebony Vagulans (Doctor Doctor). It will be coming to theaters in Australia, November 7th, 2019. There is no official release date set for the United States.
