You may have missed it after being blindsided by the Cloverbomb that was dropped by Netflix during last Sunday’s Super Bowl, but a new teaser for atmospheric horror A Quiet Place also premiered ahead of the sporty sport sports. We here a Nightmare on Film Street are still re-calibrating our regularly-scheduled marketing expectations.
Brief Synopsis of A Quiet Place:
If they can’t hear you, they can’t hunt you.
Perfectly summed up by Nightmare on Film Street Contributor Tyler Liston, A Quiet Place follows a family living in a secluded farmhouse that must stay absolutely silent. They use sign language at the dinner table and pad their every step lest they alert something to their presence. What that something is, we don’t know, but it has already shown it’s destructive power on the family’s staircase. When a game of Monopoly goes awry (don’t they always?) the family must find a way to survive against an unimaginable horror that stalks their every move.
John Krasinski (The Office, 13 Hours) and Emily Blunt (The Girl on the Train, Edge of Tomorrow) star. Noah Jupe and Millicent Simmonds co-star. A Quiet Place is produced by Michael Bay and Platinum Dunes. Krasinski directs what will be his his third feature after The Hollars (2016) and Brief Interviews with Hideous Men (2008). Krasinski re-wrote the script from a previous screenplay by Scott Beck & Bryan Woods.
