Vengeful Spirits Loom in Trailer for SYFY’s GHOST WARS

SYFY just dropped the trailer for their latest series, Ghost Wars, and it does not hold back on the ghouls! Malignant spirits terrorize the Alaskan town of Port Moore, and it seems like nowhere is safe. These mysterious hauntings can only be stopped by repressed psychic Roman Mercer, who must deal with the town’s prejudice’s on top of the spectral presences that lurk.

Ghost Wars stars Vincent D’Onofrio (Emerald City, Daredevil), Meat Loaf (The Rocky Horror Picture Show), Kim Coats (Son of Anarchy), Avan Jogia (Twisted, Tut), and Kandyse McClure (Battlestar GalacticaHemlock Grove). The action horror series is from creator Simon Barry (Van Helsing, Continuum). Barry says the show won’t just be about spooks in the night, however:

   

Ghost Wars is not just a contemporary homage to classic psychological horror, it’s also an opportunity to tell stories about human politics and how we shape our beliefs and lives based on our individual perspectives and biases. Science, Humanism, Religion and the Paranormal all get a seat at the table.” Adding that the Ghost Wars team will, “hopefully elevate this genre series beyond expectations

 

Here’s the official synopsis:

Set in a remote Alaskan town that has been overrun by paranormal forces, the series focuses on local outcast Roman Mercer who must overcome the town’s prejudices and his own personal demons if he’s to harness his repressed psychic powers and save everyone from the mass haunting that’s threatening to destroy them all.

David Von Ancken directed the pilot. Directors of other episodes include Leslie Hope (Aftermath), Michael Nankin (Van Helsing), Mathias Herdndl (Motive), Jason Priestley (Private Eyes) and Simon Barry (Continuum).
