Who’s Ready for HOCUS POCUS?: Freeform Releases “31 Nights of Halloween” Schedule
Earlier this year, it was announced that Freeform would be expanding their Halloween celebration from 13 days to cover the entire month of October. Their “31 Nights of Halloween” announcement got everyone in the horror community excited for the retro possibilities, imagining the movies that would fill the other 18 days of Spook-tober. Dreams of all the amazing nostalgia-glazed films from our youth that used to keep us up all night filled our heads. Unfortunately, as we take a look at the schedule, we were wrong.Upon reading the schedule (listed below), take a moment to think about some of the other amazing teen-oriented and retro spooky movies aren’t included on this list. Instead of giving us Frozen, how about you show Teen WolfTeen Witch, or Halloweentown? While we were expecting an improvement on what we have had in the past, what we got was the same 13 days worth of movies, stretched over the course of a whole month. Instead of filling your DVR with multiple screenings of these films, do yourself a favor by buying a physical copy of Hocus Pocus and a subscription to Shudder this October.Boys and ghouls, I present to you the schedule for 31 Nights of Halloween – or – We Promise That These Aren’t The Same 15 Movies (Several of Which Feature Weird Characters Played By Serial Kookster Johnny Depp) Rotated Around Hocus Pocus and Randomly Placed Disney Animated Films Like Mulan and Completely Non-Spooky Movies Such As The Parent Trap and Mrs. Doubtfire“:
