If you’re really looking to traumatize the neighborhood trick or treaters, Spirit Halloween ‘s got you covered! For a few hundred bucks you can invite a certain ancient entity to your porch and give Derry, Maine a well-deserved break. Spirit Halloween has just put its life-size animatronic Pennywise up for preorder. Fans of Bill Skarsgard’s iteration of Stephen King’s iconic monster can now guarantee they’ll have an ancient evil of their very own. However, there are no guarantees it won’t be ultimately defeated by a gang of local misfits.
The 6.5 foot animatronic uses infrared sensors to detect passersby and speak or move towards them. The Spirit Halloween exclusive says lines from 2017’s IT, including:
- “Well, I’m Pennywise the Dancing Clown. I’ll take him. I’ll take all of you. And I’ll feast on your flesh as I feed on your fear.”
- “This isn’t real enough for you? I’m not real enough for you? It was real enough for Georgie.”
- “Where you going? If you lived here, you’d be home by now. Join the clowns. You’ll float down here. We all float down here. Yes, we do.”
All this terror can be yours for $269.99, with pre-orders arriving in early September. The Pennywise animatronic joins the previously announced life-size Ghostbusters Terror Dog — with light-up eyes, of course, and the life-size animatronic Sam of Trick r’ Treat (2007) fame — all Spirit Halloween exclusives. Looks like horror fans will be able to give Halloween Horror Nights a run for their money, and all from their front porch. And even if you’re not huge on decorating, a life-size Pennywise to scare away trick or treaters could be just a really pricey excuse to keep all the fun-size chocolate for yourself. Or you could just hit the November 1st candy sales, that works too.
