Friday The 13Th The Final Chapter
Paramount

6. Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (1984)

Despite its name, this was far from the final chapter. However, it’s a standout in the series. With intense chase scenes, memorable characters, and a young Corey Feldman, it’s a fan favorite. It also features a gripping showdown where young Tommy Jarvis directly takes on Jason, turning the tables in a suspenseful (and gooey) climax. Definitely worth a watch, even if it’s not the “final” chapter it claims to be.

5. Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981)

The one where Jason takes center stage! While he’s sans hockey mask, his sack-headed appearance is just as terrifying. Building on the suspense of the original, this sequel ups the ante with more creative kills and a chilling final act. It’s a testament to how sequels can sometimes rival, if not surpass, their predecessors. It also boasts arguably the best final girl of the entire franchise.

4. Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives (1986)

Talk about a resurrection! This installment brings Jason back from the dead, and he’s more unstoppable than ever. With a perfect blend of horror and humor, it’s a self-aware entry that knows exactly what it is. If you’re looking for a fun, campy ride with Mr. Voorhees, this one hits the mark. This is the one I’d show non-Friday the 13th fans who are looking for a slashing good time.

3. Friday the 13th (1980)

The one that started it all. While Jason isn’t the main killer here (spoiler alert!), the film’s atmosphere, suspense, and twist ending make it a classic. It set the stage for everything that followed and introduced the world to the terror of Crystal Lake. A must-watch for any horror fan.

2. Freddy vs. Jason (2003)

The ultimate showdown! Two of horror’s biggest icons go head-to-head in this crossover event. While some purists might scoff at its inclusion so high up, the film delivers on its promise: a no-holds-barred battle between Freddy and Jason. It’s a love letter to fans of both franchises and a bloody good time.

1. Jason X (2001)

Jason in space? It sounds ridiculous, and it is, but in the best way possible. Embracing its sci-fi setting, this installment offers futuristic kills and a cyborg Jason. It’s over-the-top, campy, and an absolute blast. It also has the best sleeping bag ‘kill’ in the entire franchise. For sheer entertainment value, Jason X takes the crown.
