[Podcast] THE BRIDE! (2026) Drive Home From The Drive-in Review

Hate Living. Love Bride!

Join your horror hosts Kimmi & Jon as they share their first reactions of The Bride! after getting home from the cinema. The new monster picture from Maggie Gyllenhaal has had a wide range of reactions from critics but continues our modern monster tradition of giving creatives free reign to do what they want with these universal stories, and it has made for a series of films that veer into some truly unpredictable territory.

But wait! There’s more! Tune in now and receive a BONUS review from the two old dudes sitting next us at the theatre who were pretty vocal about how they felt.

Verdict: There’s plenty of opinions swirling around the internet right now, but we say “Go check it out!”. It’s wild, it’s weird, it’s a grave-robbing, cop-killing love story with two of your favourite monsters! Jon had a few bones to pick with it overall, but Kim says she’s buying it on 4K as soon as it comes out. And, at the very least, they both agree that Mary Shelley is genius, and Jesse Buckley’s performance as re-animated punk-icon possessed by the spirit of Shelley is CINEMA.
